Anyone can experience depression. The symptoms of depression may be mild or they may be so serious that they affect almost all of an individual’s daily activities.
Many people report that counseling helped alleviate some or most of their feelings of depression. Depression is often treated with counseling, lifestyle changes, or antidepressants and sometimes with all three. If your doctor has already prescribed medication for your depression, I will be happy to work work with you to see if therapy can further alleviate your depression.
Different people may experience depression in different ways. Some people may not be able to pinpoint the source of their depression. Symptoms common to depression may include one or more of the following:

Loss of interest in things that were once enjoyable

Guilt

Feelings of hopelessness about the future

Change in sleep habits (insomnia or sleeping more than normal)

Waking up at night and being unable to go back to sleep

Irritability

Decreased energy or fatigue

A change in weight (eating more than normal or eating much less than normal)

Trouble concentrating

Crying spells
-
Thoughts of hurting oneself

Feelings of sadness
