1. How many weeks or months does it take to complete counseling?
It is very hard to give a concrete answer to this question. Many people attend about 4-6 sessions. Some attend as few as four, while others may pursue therapy for several months. Some issues can be resolved quickly, while other issues may require a longer period of time. We can talk about this during the free phone consultation and at the end of your first session.
2. How often are counseling sessions scheduled?
Most sessions are every week or every other week. This sometimes depends on a client’s finances and other commitments they may have with their work, family, or church.
3. How long is each session?
Depending on your insurance plan, the initial session usually lasts anywhere from 60 to 75 minutes. After the initial session, each session usually last 45 to 60 minutes.
4. Does counseling require outside assignments?
This depends on the person and the goals set during counseling. I will take into consideration your needs and the goals you want to achieve. At a minimum you will be asked to put into practice some steps to reach your goals. I will take into consideration your counseling goals and specific time constraints and factor that into therapy.
5. Do you have evening or weekend appointments?
Yes, I accept evening appointments on Monday and Thursdays. I leave two Saturdays open each month for those who cannot attend weekday appointments.
